Wow, goosebumps.. OCN is back with a new series. It looks really good!
Why do I feel like that Ke Jie was the one planted that man- the thief- in her friend’s house that night causing them to start their affair so that she could have material to write about. I have no doubt she is not an antagonist but I have a feeling that she knew, wanted and caused the affair and went missing on purpose to observe what happens to those life who has lost a dear one.
And I think it is quite obvious, the three always make plans together and she doesn’t show up leaving them alone. But then what about her family? What about Shu Lei’s memory loss? Is Ke Jie really that cruel? And she also looks at her friend lovingly after possibly arranging their affair. Does she see them as her book characters? As in they do bad things but she still loves them as they are hers? …. I hope and think it is actually more complicated.
Well she has only two dramas so far so it’s hard to have an opinion. She was great in Reply 1997 but that had to do with the character too.
Just based on that drama I would say she is much more talented and natural in acting than most rookie actresses and duh- than a lot of the idols her age.
That Winter is another story, she was good but not Sung Shi Won good. I would argue her character was not that detailed or that dimensional and didn’t require as much as Sung Shi Won.
I think in Korean dramas and movies there are more of characters than of actors/actresses. Someone who is considered a bad actress by many can shine in a role years after her debut and I have two examples of that -Go Ara in Reply 1994 and Lee Yeon Hee in Miss Korea. (Again the role of the Reply series in the first case is concrete.) I can’t say that I would watch anything with an actor/actress unless he/she is Song Kang Ho level- by which I mean has a golden touch and also a great sense in choosing his projects.
Back to Jung Eun Ji she has a new drama coming up I have no idea how that will end up being but I am hopeful. Still I would have preferred if she would stick with the supporting roles besides people like Song Hye Kyo and Jo In Sung for a while and watch and learn or at least take on a cable drama which tend to have better writing, better characters and better story.
Sung Joon is in talks for the 2nd lead who might happen to be the first lead in Discovery of Romance that has recently confirmed Eric Moon and Jung Yoo Mi.
Don’t do it, don’t do it, I don’t want to ship both couples. No, okay do it. I luvf you. Do it. No, no I changed my mind, don’t.
Yoo In Young has taken on the female lead in the Three Musketeers. Yey! Someone finally gave her a leading role!
edit: dramabeans what do you mean by “the leading lady has not been cast yet.” NOOOOOOOOOOO. Why give my fav ladies 2nd lead roles again and again. Duh, it’s still nice to see her in a nice drama.
Yoona’s Street is being subbed by darksmurfsubs and the 1st episode is already up!
Actors so underrated that makes me want to cry;
Lee Kyu Han.
Just whaaaot are you doing in a daily drama?!
Actually following a tw drama after In Time with You.. Lovestore at the Corner is, if you ask my opinion, a lame and belittling name for this drama. The story is about much more than just a love story. The thing is - hopefully the leads are not even romantically involved.
The drama starts with Ke Jie going for a walk in the mountains as she does on occasion but this time not coming back home. Her disappearance is a mystery, was she abducted, did she run away, did she get lost, did she fall of a cliff? Nothing is known apart from she has left behind a crumbling family slowly losing themselves trying to find her, a lover and a best friend who are drowning in guilt after having betrayed her. The boyfriend, Shu Lei, loses his memory after an accident ( though i think he has chosen to forget) and opens a bookstore in Yilan and the sister, Ke Xing, struggles to pull their family on feet again whilst trying to find her. She runs into Shu Lei by coincidence and starts to work in his bookstore to make him remember her sister and more of that to try to understand her sister who has loved books so much.
I am not sure how I can write more about the show without spoiling things for anyone so I’ll be giving this much about the story.
The drama is different, really very different than other tw dramas, it actually has a solid plot and a beautiful writing style, the story is more on the slow side in- a positive way.
It is not perfect, it could have been much more good if written in more detail and after taking some typical drama stuff out. But I would say it is a germ amongst the tw dramas of the last few years.
And the best part, it makes me want to read and write more!
Those who have watched -and loved- Que Sera Sera will be happy to hear that Eric Moon and Jung Yoo Mi are officially back together in dramaland for a new drama. Yey! One of the best drama news of 2014 so far.
